Every day, 10 million kilograms of plastic ends up in our natural environment. Imagine: our rivers and oceans are slowly turning into mountains of waste. If we do nothing, by 2050 the ocean will contain more plastic than fish – with major consequences for humans, animals and nature. But there is hope. Together, we can turn the tide and give our children and grandchildren a healthy, plastic-free future.
River Cleanup tackles the problem at its core. We ensure that less plastic is produced, replace it with healthier alternatives, clean it up where it has already ended up, and give people the knowledge to make more conscious choices. In this way, we are making rivers around the world plastic-free, step by step.

🌿 Flowers & Wreaths – A Green Remembrance
When you lose a loved one, you want to create a memory that offers comfort and does some good at the same time. Instead of traditional flowers or wreaths, you can choose to make a donation to River Cleanup. This way, the memory of your loved one will live on in a concrete action for cleaner rivers.
PRACTICAL
You can transfer your donation to BE42 7370 5967 5554, stating your name. Donations of €40 or more per year entitle you to a tax certificate, which allows you to reclaim 45% of your donation.
Donorinformation
Your support helps us clean up plastic in rivers, take preventive action and organise educational programmes. For every €1 we receive, we remove 1 kilo of plastic from rivers. All your contributions are used entirely for projects and initiatives that keep rivers clean and healthy.
