UUFSU Virgin River Cleanup 2026
The Virgin River gives our community beauty, wildlife, shade, and a place to breathe. On Sunday, March 29th at 1 pm, we’re teaming up to return the favor.
Join the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Southwest Utah (UUFSU) for a hands-on riverbank cleanup where we’ll roll up our sleeves, remove litter, and help protect this local treasure for people, plants, and animals alike. Whether you come solo, bring a friend, or show up with the whole family, you’ll leave knowing you made a visible, immediate difference.
This project is open to all — no experience necessary, and there are roles for folks who aren't physically able to pick up trash. We’ll provide [XXX]. You wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty; bring a hat, sunscreen, and reusable water bottle; and come ready to spend a satisfying couple of hours outdoors doing something concrete and worthwhile.
Why participate?
Protect wildlife and water quality
Keep our shared spaces beautiful and accessible
Meet kind, community-minded neighbors
Model service and stewardship for the next generation
UUFSU is a welcoming, service-oriented community that believes small, local actions matter. You don’t have to be an existing member to join in — just care about the river and be willing to help.
We’ll meet at Grace Episcopal Church (1072 E 900 S, St. George, UT 84790) at 1 pm and carpool from there. We expect to wrap up around 4 pm. All ages welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult and all participants will be required to complete and sign liability waivers.
Let’s work together to make this stretch of the river cleaner than we found it!
