the importance of education
A big part of the solution to the plastic pollution problem involves educating the latest generation about the issues our planet is facing, and empowering them to make a positive impact. Awareness generated in schools influences parents, families and the wider community, leading to real change that spreads. We are proud to provide a global school program, called Plastic Clever Schools.
We work together with Common Seas to be able to offer this program for free to schools all over the world. Common Seas is a UK-based organization that works on stopping the flow of plastic pollution, to protect our ocean, our health, and our future.
So far, over 1500 schools have already joined Plastic Clever Schools. By adding the River Cleanup community to this story, the number will only go up in the coming years!
Core country pilot cases
We are already using these resources in our core countries: Belgium, Indonesia and Cameroon. In 2025 and 2026 we did, or are still doing a pilot projects across the world with a total of 32 schools testing the resources with support from our local education coordinators.
