M-LISADA Rhythm for Rivers Initiative
M-LISADA Rhythm for Rivers – Katwe & Gaba (Lake Victoria) is a community-driven environmental action that combines river and lakeshore cleanup with music, youth empowerment, and environmental awareness.
Taking place in Katwe Slum and Gaba along the shores of Lake Victoria, this initiative mobilizes vulnerable children, young people, local artists, and community members to address the growing plastic pollution crisis affecting our waterways.
As an organization rooted in music, life skills, and destitution alleviation, M-LISADA uses creative arts as a tool for transformation. Through cleanup action, environmental education, and live musical engagement, we inspire behavioral change, responsible waste management, and long-term environmental stewardship.
Plastic waste from our communities flows directly into Lake Victoria, threatening livelihoods, public health, and ecosystems. By combining rhythm and responsibility, this initiative empowers young people to become environmental ambassadors while restoring dignity and pride within their communities.
