Our Power, Our Planet: Restoring the Mile 16 River Ecosystem in Buea
🌍 In commemoration of World Earth Day 2026, the Center for Community Enhancement (CENEC) Cameroon, in partnership with River Cleanup Cameroon, is organising a community-driven cleanup initiative under the theme: “Our Power, Our Planet”.
This environmental action will focus on restoring and protecting the Mile 16 River ecosystem in Buea through plastic waste collection, community sensitisation, and youth engagement. The initiative aims to mobilise over 100 student volunteers and remove more than 1000kg of plastic waste from the river and surrounding areas.
Together, we are taking collective action to protect our waterways, reduce pollution, and inspire communities to become long-term stewards of the environment. 🌿♻️
