"Albania is ours", UAMD students and River CleanUp Albania cleaning action in Cape Rodoni
Volunteers of the University "Aleksandër Moisiu", the organization "River Clean Up Albania" and scouts from France, under the leadership of the Head of the Department of Literature Dr. Marisa Kërbizi organized a cleaning action in Cape Rodon.
Giselda Plaku, a student of Public Administration, said that the volunteers managed to clean a good part of the area. "We collected dozens of bags filled with cans and polystyrene, plastic and other waste, which with the help of the Durrës Agency of Protected Areas were transported to the landfill."
For Dr. Laura Gjyli, representative of the organization "River CleanUp" in Albania, is precisely the education that will promote transformation in the environmental field.
"We are happy that UAMD professors are joining more and more of their students in the field every day, inspiring and enriching our movement with new ideas. Even happier when we see the students, with us for a year, who already take action themselves, train young volunteers and know how to classify waste and do argumentative analysis. "This is the real path for our Albania," she said.
With the support of the UAMD Rectorate, for a year the students have joined the community of "River CleanUp Albania" for cleaning the Ishëm River or other areas, inspiring inspiration for all environmental movements in the country.
