25th Action. According to the information received from the Chief Engineer of the Agency of Protected Areas, Durrës, Ing. Naim Herri @naimherri, devoted volunteer #RiverCleanupAlbania, today on November 14, 2021, at 11.00-12.00, a cleaning action was organized along Bregu i Lumit, Tirana River, Paskuqan, as part of the Ishëm River, where in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism @mirelakumbaro, Armed Forces @protection, Municipality of Tirana @erionveliaj, Municipality of Kamza @rakipsuli, Agency of Protected Areas, Durrës @adzmdurres, @eco_tirana, @keshillimvironmentortirane, with high school students and students of Tirana and Kamza; over 500 volunteers came together and collected 700 bags of waste or 5,600 kg, as well as 6 heavy vehicles with 7 tons each of solid waste, 3 diggers, 20 trucks, collecting today a total of 47,600 kg of solid waste, mainly plastic, which were sent to Sharra Landfill.
Thank you for your tireless work today and we look forward to joining you in the ongoing clean-up actions along the Ishëm River, the most polluted plastic river in Albania and Europe! It is true that the Ishëm River crosses the most populated area of Albania and dumps 733,000 kg of plastic waste every year in the Adriatic Sea, but our union makes the power to turn it into the cleanest river in Albania!
