Ura e Rinasit
On 31 July RiverCleanupAlbania, in its second year, undertook the second action at the turn of the Tirana River, near the Rinas Road Bridge, Bërxullë administrative area, Vora Municipality. The purpose was to clean up the trees from plastics and remove the trunks of dead trees, as landfills over the years, coming from the river. Under the direction of the field coordinator, physiotherapy student Ervin Bajraktari and the coordinator of the volunteer organization, graduate high school student, with 10 years of experience, Sindi Rexha, we cleaned 60 kg of waste with 14 RiverCleanupAlbania volunteers, on top of trees / surrounded by their trunks.
It is worth mentioning that in this action we had the help of the mayor of Tirana, Mr. Mersin Murataj, who mobilized the administrator Bërxullë, Mr. Dritan Zeneli, joining us with 8 employees of the Municipality of Vora, who saw with their saws cut the trunks of dead trees and moved some of them from the place, but the work was not completed, as heavy tools were needed, such as diggers that could to remove all trunks and living trees to be totally cleaned of debris.
Vora Municipality promised us that it would continue the cleaning and disposal of waste collected by RiverCleanupAlbania.
We were pleased that the pedagogue of Tourism from UAMD, Arba Taraku, promised us that the project-assignments of the course of her students, would take place near the Ishm River, to promote the tourist values brought by the surrounding area.
