Water is life!
Oxfam's Mekong Water Governance program in partnership with Oxfam's Green Team and Cambodian Volunteers for Society (CVS) are organizing a Mekong river banks cleanup at Koh Dach beach site in Phnom Penh on 21 February 2021!
In cooperation with the commune authorities in Koh Dach district, we are organizing and supporting a group of maximum 30 volunteers to clean-up the Koh Dach beach tourism site on the beloved and well-known river island also known as Silk Island.
The half-day event will not only contribute to the cleanliness of the natural tourism site but also raise awareness and support local communities in becoming empowered and active guardians of their environment, to keep rivers healthy for healthy communities!
Volunteers will work in pairs or small teams and organizers will follow and implement Oxfam's Standard of Procedure to protect against and prevent COVID-19 spread, in accordance to Ministry of Health's guidelines.
The event is private, with registration of volunteers going through our partner CVS.
Reduce plastic use, dispose of waste properly and protect the environment for Healthy rivers, healthy communities!
