NL Waterway Cleanup Dublin

In collaboration with An Taisce Environmental Education Unit in Ireland, the Netherlands Embassy Team in Dublin will participate in a beach clean-up hosted by Richard Curtin, the Coastal Programme Officer, to mark “World Clean-Up Day” on Friday 17th of September, at 8am.
“World Clean-Up Day” unites more than 20 million people in 180 countries, who come together to tackle litter, and is highly endorsed and participation encouraged by the Ministry. Our event with An Taisce, will form part of the Big Beach Clean 2021 initiative, which is a call to action taking place in September, whereby communities and volunteers come together to tidy up local coastal areas after the summer.
Richard will lead our event and provide insightful information to motivate us on our clean-up. To make it more interesting and engaging, we will also carry out marine litter surveys to quantify the amount and types of litter on Irish beaches. These surveys are aimed at heightening awareness about the issue of marine litter and serve as an indicator of the magnitude of the problem.
Afterwards let's share a coffee and breakfast!
