Together with Big Blue Ocean Cleanup, the Netherlands Embassy Team in the UK is organising a cleanup event along the banks of the river Thames in London.
As part of global action to mark World Cleanup Day 2021, this event will take place on Friday 17th September. We will start at 4pm, so as to be able to work along the bank of the river Thames at low tide.
World Clean-Up Day unites more than 20 million people in 180 countries, who come together to tackle litter and plastic pollution, and raise awareness and encourage action. Of the almost 8 billion kilogrammes of plastic pollution that ends up in our oceans, 80% flows into our oceans via rivers.
