Rescue River Lambayea - Clean River Lambayea
This event is a community-driven initiative dedicated to restoring the health and beauty of our vital Lambayea River in Kenema city. This event is more than just a cleanup, it's a powerful opportunity to make a tangible difference in our local environment and to safeguard this precious resource for future generations.
The Lambayea River is an integral part of our community's identity and ecosystem. This river is providing an essential habitat for aquatic lives and for backyard gardens. Unfortunately, pollution and accumulated debris from households along the river line have threatened the river's health, impacting its ability to thrive and provide these essential services.
During this event, volunteers will work together to remove trash, debris, and other pollutants from the riverbanks and, where possible from the river itself. We will focus on key areas identified as needing the most attention, ensuring our efforts have the greatest impact.
