Zoetis Volunteering day 2025 - Copenhagen beach cleanup

UPDATE post cleanup:

Thank you to all Zoetis Denmark people that attended our Amager Strand cleanup event, while daring the challenges of the pouring rain.

We managed to collect in total 30.3 kg of waste, of which 8.5 kg plastics. Great job to all volunteers!

Join us for this year's Volunteering Day on Amager strand on Friday, September 5th!

For Volunteering day 2025, Zoetis are teaming up with River Cleanup, going to Amager Strand in Copenhagen and help clean up the beach.


Getting there:
By car (see below), or by the metro M2 yellow line towards Københavns Lufthavn. Get off at Øresund (600m walk to the beach).

Parking:
Please note that it is not possible to park at Naturcenter Amager Strand, but it is possible to park at Amager Strandvej. From there it is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach.

What to bring:
Please remember to bring your own water bottles. Be ready to have clothes according to the weather. A good pair of shoes is recommended - if you plan to walk in the shoreline then Wellingtons can be a good idea.

You're also welcome to bring your dog if you'd like. :)


Info:

We will start from Naturcenter Amager Strand (where we have access to bathrooms). From here we will have a briefing, including safety and the plan for the day. We will provide gloves, garbage bags, and litter pickers that's coming via River Cleanup. We will be walking routes along the beach area, divided into smaller groups.

After the cleanup, we’ll be having a group picture along with welcoming you back with light lunch in the form of a sandwich and will then be summarizing the day.

Schedule:

🕐 9:00 AM – Gathering & distribution of materials
🕐 9:15 AM – Briefing & designation of groups
🕐 9:30 AM – Start of the cleanup
🕐 12:00 PM – Return from the cleanup
🕐 12:15 PM – Complete! Group picture & enjoy the lunch
