River Cleanup Response Unit: Boignée
GENERAL INFORMATION
In late May and early June, there was an unusually high amount of rain throughout Belgium, resulting in waterlogging and even flooding in various areas. Incidents like these often cause significant pollution because the water carries debris and litter from villages into the natural environment. The mission of the River Cleanup Response Unit is to clean up this pollution as soon as possible and restore the affected nature areas.

10:00 welcome & briefing
10:30 - 12:30 part 1 cleanup
12:30 - 13:30 lunch break
13:30 - 15:30 part 2 cleanup
15:30 - 16:00 gathering waste & material
16:00 - 16:30 celebrate with a drink
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
- lunch
- reusable water bottle
- rubber boots or sturdy shoes that can get dirty
- clothes that can get dirty
- sunscreen & other sun protection (hat, glasses,...)
- rain coat (if needed)
WHAT DO WE PROVIDE?
- all necessary cleaning & safety gear
- clear briefings & guidance
- insurance for all participants registeres through this website event
- extra water and other beverages
- possibility to wash/disinfect your hands
- first aid kit
