World Cleanup Day 2026: Local Action, Global Impact

On September 20, millions of people around the world will take action for World Cleanup Day. River Cleanup communities are already getting ready, with cleanups planned from Bandung to Douala, Delhi to New York, and Barcelona to Zanzibar. People are organizing events where they live, turning local action into part of a much bigger global effort.

More than 70 have cleanups already registered with River Cleanup.

32 countries represented so far.

Thousands more people expected to join in the weeks ahead.

Every cleanup starts locally, whether it's hundreds of people coming together at an organized event or a smaller group of friends, family or colleagues cleaning up close to home. Together, these actions create global impact.

Not My Trash. Still My Planet.

You may not have dropped the bottle on the street or left the wrapper in the park, but you can decide what happens next. That's the idea behind our message for World Cleanup Day this year: Not My Trash. Still My Planet.

On September 19 and 20, join an existing cleanup or organize your own. Wherever you take action, you'll be joining people around the world doing the same.
