River cleanups are a major component of World Cleanup Day, as rivers are significant conduits for plastic pollution into oceans. We aim to join forces within World Cleanup Day to organize events aimed at freeing rivers and their banks from waste.
Volunteers will work to remove all types of litter, particularly plastic, which poses a serious threat to aquatic ecosystems and wildlife.
This event not only remove existing waste but also serve to educate the public on the connection between land-based pollution and its impact on water bodies, from rivers to the sea.
